Lee County ARES Participate in the ARRL “Pop-up” Exercise Operation Fuel Re-Supply

Lee County ARES participated in the STX ARRL Exercise Operation Fuel Re-Supply. The goal of this exercise to see how many ARES groups could organize a deployment without much notice in different locations of their county and were able to pass traffic via voice with tactical call signs to net control and then Net Control or Backup Net Control to pass traffic digitally via Winlink to ARRL STX. This was a Simulated Emergency Test (SET).

Lee County ARES participated with 6 operators in the county and one outside the County (transmitting data via winlink) for a 54% participation. We reported 42 trucks and covered the most County of Lee (North on 77 in Lexington, East on 290, South Central in Giddings, and East on HWY 21.  Lee Co ARES learned a lot from this exercise in reporting traffic and be more efficient in this kind of operation.
