LeeCARES Participates in May 8 American Red Cross Drill

LeeCARES partecipate in the National American Red Cross drill on May 8. We started the morning exercise with Travis County ARES and Red Cross Central Texas by operating mobile at the Lee County EOC. We also cooperated with the adjacent Fayette County ARES as we cooperated in the morning activities. In the afternoon we continued the exercise at the national level. The primary objectives of the exercise were to transmit Winlink email using templates and attachments through any radio band and mode and to send accurate and timely messages simulating handwritten messages passed to radio operators by Red Cross shelter personnel. We appreciate the Red Cross for their weekly and monthly trainings for the past six months to bring operators up to speed with Winlink.
