LeeCARES November Monthly Meeting
LeeCARES met on November 22 at Elm Creek Cafe. After a brief business meeting, we discussed the first results from the November 14 exercise in preparation of the After Action Report (AAR), and the Red Cross Exercise held in the afternoon of the same day. We discussed our gratitude toward our public officials and our retiring Sheriff, Rodney Meyer. We also recognized all the support and assistance of the trustee of our primary repeater, Don Spivey NE5DX, and all the advice of the former Lee County ARES Emergency Coordinator Butch Johnson KA5HRF. Last, but not least, Robert Zoch of Zochnet for hosting our second repeater on one of his towers. We discussed backup frequencies and Winter Feld Day. After a short visit by Retired Texas Ranger Major Frank Malinak, Larry W5JVJ gave us detailed and exceedingly helpful presentation and demonstration on DMR (Digital Mobile Radios). Thank You Larry for your great presentation! We enjoyed it and gained from it immensely!
