LeeCARES December 20, 2020 Monthly Meeting

LeeCARES met at Elm Creek on December 20, 2020. After welcoming a new visitor we discussed the After Action Report of the November 14 exercise and initiated planning for the January 16 exercise. We were informed on the status of the application of the Federal Surplus grant and of an agreement with the County Emergency Management that has been initiated. It was decided to standardize the GPS coordinates in degree and decimal minutes. It was announced that the basic and advance SKYWARN training generally held in Austin will be held virtually this year on Saturday February 6, 2021 from 0900 to 1200. We discussed the 2021 training net cycles and training on Simplex for net Control to open Net Control to other members. We extended to LeeCARES members the invitation to participate to WC-ARES Winter Field Day and activities. Finally we shared ideas on different equipment and frequencies for redundancy during an emergency.
