LeeCARES met on July 21 at Elm Creek Cafe. We held our business meeting, in which the group discussed among the rest the new website and future activities like weekly training nets, future possible demonstrations of our capabilities to the public, digital communications, future equipment such as an EmComm trailer and a second repeater, and SummerFest in Austin August 2 and 3, 2019. Then, Greg Fuqua, K5GRG, Logistic Chief for Williamson County ARES, shared his deployment and experience during Hurricane Harvey; the reasons why he wants to make ARES into a class organization; and all the different possibilities, beyond radio, to serve in ARES. Thank you Greg for your own contribution to ARES and for motivating us to explore different angles in emergency communications and preparedness to make Lee County more resilient!
