LeeCARES Monthly Meeting September 18, 2021

Lee County ARES met for their business meeting at Santa Fe in Giddings, following the completion of the Precinct 1 radio signal exercise. After the  business portion and an informal after action report, members discussed the height of the tower at the Lee County Emergency Operations Center  needed to communicate with Williamson County, Travis County, and the current and future sites of the State Operation Center. Options were discussed.

The Outreach Committee reminded the group that in the upcoming month LeeCARES would work at their first event, supporting the Dime Box Black Bridge Festival Mini-Marathon and Parade in Dime Box. Plans were discussed.

We celebrated the approval of the grant we requested for the EmComm van while we shared hope for the other grants recently filed for equipping the Emergency Operation Center.

Finally, we considered openings on the Board for directors and future elections. The group  voted unanimously to accept the invitation to join the Giddings Chamber of Commerce.
