Lee Co. ARES Monthly Meeting, August 21, 2022

Lee Co ARES had a busy meeting today. We discussed our mobile units: the trailer is finished and the van will be moving forward. On Tuesday the trailer will receive decals. We discussed our presence at the Dime Box Black Bridge Festival with the possibility to participate in the parade. We welcomed Michael Moody, W5ALE, director of WC-ARES, IT for Williamson County Emergency Communications, and members of Lee Co. ARES, who visited us and offered a presentation about batteries, their life, and how connectors, tuners, etc. can affect the duration of batteries. The presentation touched on different radios, power, and the different batteries available. We received  briefing on new ARES protocol and procedures adopted in Georgia ARES. We also introduced and discussed the approaching RACES/ARES Exercise coming next month.
