Lee Co. ARES Celebrates SKYWARN Net Recognition Day with a Multi-County Net
Lee County ARES in conjunction with the Lone Star Spotters Network kicked off the month of December preparing and executing the very first multi-county SKYWARN net in recent times in honor of SKYWARN Net Recognition Day on December 4, 2021. Seven Counties and 22 unique stations participated exchanging 42 reports. Repeaters were linked via RF and AllStar in four counties (Lee, Williamson, Fayette, and Bastrop) allowing reports from 7 counties: Bastrop, Burnet, Coryell, Fayette, Lee, Travis, and Williamson. Paul Yura, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio Office, welcomed the event and accepted the ICS 309 log for the net.
