Lee County ARES Monthly Meeting, February 18, 2024

Lee County Members held their meeting both in person and via Google video, for the first time. After taking care of minutes, treasury report and other business, they discussed about standardizing radios and the sale of the radios that present a difficult learning curve. We discuss the increasing premium for the insurance of the van that is escalating every couple of months and possible solutions. We gave a report of the new FaceBook page, now open to the public rather than as a private club, whose name is Lee County ARES. We talked about  problems encountered by a member about updating Vara and Winlink. We gave a report about a new platform working for calendar, email, and documents, including pictures, Our Liaison Officer gave us a report on other ARES groups, items they have for sale and unmet needs. We also talked about possibly put our two repeaters on Broadcastify so Lee County citizens, authorities, and First Responders can listen to our nets, SKYWARN (r) nets or other emergencies. A couple of directors and EC went subsequently to the 147.24 repeater site to re-install a monitor, check on equipment and bring up to date the newly elected director.
