Lee Co. ARES Monthly Meeting, September 2025

Lee County ARES members had a busy meeting. Main topics discussed were the status of readiness of the trailer (which is ready to deploy) and the need for a server. We narrowed down on the purchase of HT on multi bands to give in the hands of non amateur operators during emergencies or events. They need to be simple enough to be used. We excluded a set of radios we tried and we have identified another. We talked about the installed  military terminated folded dipole at the EOC that works great. We discussed our recent donation received of VHF, UHF, and VHF/UHF repeater antennas and several heliax cables and discussed on the price of the connectors for those cables. Marida gave an update on the Lexington repeater that is on hold because of  overload of the owner of the tower. We also agreed to have future training on recertification for CPR and Stop the Bleed. We also talked about GRLevel 3 and training on Winlink HF and P2P. Last but not least we planned our own county EAP for the upcoming District 7 Simulated Emergency test (SET) to be integrated with the District.
