LeeCARES Monthly Meeting, November 19, 2023

After a short business meeting, LeeCARES discussed the signal of the relocated 146.64 repeater in Williamson Co., which unfortunately seems to be marginal to at least an operator in Lee County. The technical committee met via Zoom and gave a report on the capabilities of Google WorkPlace. The calendar feature was discussed for the group and individuals. It will be a great tool to post training. EOC needs to put second HF antenna, run CAT6 cable for ARDEN and replace a N connector for the spare coax. Backup solar power system for the secondary/backup repeater to be done even this very week. We discussed how to help the Highland lakes ARES, which serves three counties and currently has equipment problems.We discussed our involvement and plans for Winter Field day in Williamson County. We also discussed the first TDEM Academy coming up in February in San Antonio. We talked about the benefit of our new software to keep up with inventory. We decided to cancel our nets on 12/25 and 1/1/24 and we planned for our Christmas social.
